- Genesis was written by Moses, likely using earlier sources
- Genesis was most likely written in the 1400’s B.C. during the Exodus period
- Genesis is made up of two parts:
- Chs. 1-11 – Creation, Fall, and spread of Sin and Death
- Chs. 12-52 – The Promise to Abraham and the initial fulfillments of that promise
- Genesis is the foundation of the entire story of the Bible showing us where the world came from, what it mean to be human, what’s the reason for evil in the world, and what God plans to do about it.
