- Romans was written near the end of Paul’s third missionary journey while he wintered in Corinth (Acts 20:1-3).
- c. 57 A.D.
- It is the most thorough presentation of Paul’s theology, yet it’s still a letter addressing a real situation.
- Paul wrote Romans to the churches in Rome prior to his expected visit. He intended it to prepare them to participate in his ministry, to ground them in the gospel that unveils the saving righteousness of God, and to help the churches begin to welcome one another so that they could glorify God together with one voice.
